Mono plastic films - The move towards a circular economy
At AR Packaging we have set our target to be able to supply 100% recyclable packaging to our customers by 2025. It may sound simple but considering the demands put on packaging to avoid increased food waste, it can be a complex challenge.
Paper and cartonboard are ideal packaging solutions for recyclability but cannot always do the job of product protection. Thin layers of plastic are sometimes needed. A mono plastic material is a packaging material built up by only one type of plastic. Traditional flexible plastic packaging materials are built up by many layers ensuring minimal use of raw material, saving resources and increasing efficiency in packaging lines.
Today we are updating our products to keep the value and efficiency of a flexible material and at the same time be recyclable in existing recycling infrastructures.
